The MassHire Metro North Workforce Board (MNWB) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to develop partnerships, generate resources, and advocate for workforce solutions that result in a skilled workforce, prospering businesses, and equitable access to meaningful career pathways and quality employment for residents.

Work to THRIVE (WtT), an initiative of MassHire Metro North Workforce Board (MNWB), is developing a new pilot program, NewBiz Entrepreneurship 101, to train and equip aspiring immigrant entrepreneurs living in Somerville, MA. Grant funding for this program has been awarded by the City of Somerville under the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). The program will be divided into three cohorts (English, Spanish, Portuguese). Students will receive 25 hours of in-person entrepreneurial training designed to provide them with the building blocks and confidence to start their own business.

In developing the program, WtT seeks a Curriculum Development Consultant to assist with the creation and contextualization of an entrepreneurial curriculum geared towards the program’s immigrant students. The Curriculum Development Consultant will play a fundamental role in ensuring the curriculum is appropriate for the pre-determined class timeline, relevant culturally and linguistically, and adaptable across the three language cohorts. In addition, a key to success will be the Curriculum Development Consultant’s ability to collaborate with representatives from Rogers Park Business Alliance in developing the curriculum’s content.
